The Church of San Severo in Bardolino, a Romanesque building from the 12th century, is outside the old town of Bardolino. The building is a three-nave church with a bell tower. In addition to a crypt, which is still included from the previous building, the fresco decoration is particularly worth seeing.

The municipality of Bardolino, which gives its name to the wine-growing region, is located on the south-eastern shore of Lake Garda. This is where the DOC red wine Bardolino is produced. In addition to Bardolino, the towns of Affi, Costermano, Garda, Lazise, Peschiera del Garda and Torri del Benaco also belong to this DOC zone in Veneto. If the wine comes from the core area of the DOC, it may include the addition Classico on the label. The red wine from Bardolino is certainly the most famous wine in the region, but there is also rosé. As a rule, these are quite light, drinkable wines that should be drunk as young as possible. The latter applies above all to the Chiaretto (Rosé).Bardolino Superiore and Bardolino Classico Superiore have had DOCG status for many years.
