The village is very romantic, with small boutiques and delicatessens. There are lovely cafés and restaurants with beautiful views of the lake. Just above the village, you can visit the old lemon houses.
Limone is car-free. Cars can be parked in a large car park outside the village. Limone is easily accessible by boat from Malcesine and Riva. From the village centre, a beautiful footpath and cycle path several kilometres long leads towards Riva.

1. Sehenswürdigkeiten
The chapel of St Rocco, called Chiesa San Rocco, located at the northern exit of the old town centre, was built in the middle of the 16th century as a thanksgiving by those Limonese who escaped the great plague epidemic that struck the whole of northern Italy. The church, the frescoes and the bell tower were completed during the following two centuries. Beautifully situated between the rocks, the lake and the lemon gardens, it is one of the most picturesque and much photographed corners of Limone.
The church of St Peter is also called San Pietro in Oliveto (St Peter in the Olive Grove) because of its location in the middle of the olive grove above Limone. This 9th century church is the oldest in Limone and was built in Romanesque style. The simplicity of the little church and the frescoes, which are limited to the essentials, show the deep religiousness that once dominated the life of the community.
Limonaia del Castèl - Limone's most famous lemon greenhouse is located in the old town centre, on Via Castello, and extends over several terraces. It is now a museum and can be visited. There are regular guided tours and you have a beautiful view over the houses in the old town centre.
2. Tremosine hiking area
You can reach the Tremosine plateau by car from Limone. Tremosine is the name of the municipality consisting of 18 small villages. They are located on the mountain slopes on the western shore of Lake Garda, between Gargnano and Limone. The nature here is breathtakingly beautiful and various hiking trails invite you to enjoy the nature and fauna. You can enjoy wonderful views of the lake from various places.
The little village of Pieve, situated on high ground, is a beautiful village with narrow streets. From some of the restaurants you can look almost 350 metres vertically into the depths along the cliffs. From the Hotel Miralago, a hiking trail leads along the cliffs down to Lake Garda.
Driving to Pieve or back to the lake through the Brasa Gorge is also an exciting adventure. The road that follows the small river Brasa from Tremosine down to Lake Garda, which in places is literally glued to the rocks, is also known as the Strada della Forra. This narrow road is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful roads on Lake Garda.
Near Pieve there is a cheese co-operative selling agricultural products, Via Provinciale, Tremosine sul Garda

A little further south of the municipality of Tremosine, always on the plateau, is the municipality of Tignale. It can be reached via a winding road, but also from the village of Gargnano, which lies down by the lake. For information on Tignale, see Gargnano.
Excursion to the Tignale plateau by car via Gargnano.

Beautiful footpaths lead through car-free Limone. You can also walk or cycle a few kilometres from the centre of Limone towards Riva on a beautiful new cycle/footpath. Garda by Bike - this name stands for an ambitious cycle path project that should make it possible to cycle completely around Lake Garda in a few years' time. Some spectacular sections can already be seen today, such as a section in Limone sul Garda that is largely unsupported and runs about 50 metres above the lake. The section to Riva del Garda is not expected to be completed before 2023/24.
