Gardone
Thanks to its mild climate, Gardone has luxuriant vegetation, as well as a beautiful lakeside promenade with cafés and restaurants. In Gardone di sopra (upper part of the village) is the Vittoriale degli Italiani, the park and villa of the poet Gabriele D'Annunzio.

1. Sights
The lakeside promenade of Gardone Riviera is a promenade with bases on Lake Garda, lined with oleanders, orange trees and magnificent roses of all colors. It represents a popular meeting point for tourists and locals who can sit in one of the many bars and admire the wonderful landscape of Mount Baldo, with its snow cap in winter, and the Isola del Garda reflected in the blue of the waves. In the evening there are often musical events on the lakeside promenade and you can dine in an elegant restaurant.

This green area, which was acquired by the Viennese artist André Heller, is exactly the right place for a few romantic hours in a wonderful ambience. 2. Vittoriale degli Italiani
On the hill above Gardone Riviera is the imposing Vittoriale degli Italiani museum complex, built at the behest of the poet Gabriele D'Annunzio (1863-1938). The most impressive features of the extensive grounds are the prioria (prior's house), which was once the poet's home, and the auditorium, which now houses a war museum. The Vittoriale also houses the ship museum Museo di Bordo and the mausoleum. These outstanding sights and many other highlights are located within nine acres of parkland. The landscape design is an attraction in itself and offers visitors a green oasis with Mediterranean vegetation - even parks and gardens represent historical references here. The Prioria gives a comprehensive impression, not only of the personality and the extraordinary life of D'Annunzio, according to whose specifications the building was rebuilt and designed. It also represents a whole era thanks to its original furnishings and collections of valuable objects.
3. Swimming & Sport
At the end of the Gardone lakeside promenade, there is the Spiaggia Rimbalzello park. It is a very nice managed and paid beach with sun loungers, parasols, volleyball court, swimming pool and entertainment. The Rimbalzello complex also offers tennis and soccer fields.

4. Excursions & boat trips timetable Lake Garda
Line ships on Lake Garda travel north from Desenzano to Malcesine and Riva. From Riva you can return via Gargnano, Salò and Desenzano.

The car ferry takes you from Toscolano to Torri in 20 minutes. There is a lot to see on the Verona side of Lake Garda: Gardaland, Colà thermal park, various nature parks and water parks, cable car from Malcesine to Monte Baldo (at 1700 meters altitude), Verona. On the Brescian side of Lake Garda you can visit the beautiful towns of Toscolano-Maderno, Gardone and Salò.
Isola del Garda is the largest island in Lake Garda and is located off the coast of San Felice del Benaco on the western shore of Lake Garda. The island consists of a stately villa and the surrounding gardens and park. For several years now, the garden and villa have been open to the public for guided tours that depart from Salò, Gardone or Toscolano-Maderno. The Villa Borghese impresses with its Venetian-classical style with many architectural details and the magnificent furnishings. Above all, however, it is the magnificent park that draws visitors under its spell. From the main terrace of the villa you have a beautiful view of the garden in classic Italian style and you can admire the artistically trimmed hedges. Visiting this park from spring to autumn is an exceptionally beautiful experience. Pines and cypresses, acacia and lemon trees grow here. The park captivates with magnolias, magnificent agaves and many other plants in which many birds feel at home. The palm trees next to the villa come from the Canary Islands, even fruit plants such as pomegranates and, of course, citrus plants thrive.
