Torri & San Vigilio & Garda
Garda is a beautiful town with many narrow streets. The place is very touristic and offers a long lake promenade and many bars and restaurants. Garda has many beautiful bathing beaches, especially towards the south, along the car-free shore path to Bardolino and Lazise, which is ideal for hiking and cycling.
Torri del Benaco is a picturesque holiday resort right on the lake, which offers many beautiful hiking opportunities (Monte Baldo) and good bathing opportunities (Punta San Vigilio). The place has a winding, historic old town and a pretty lakeside promenade and a picturesque harbor. A car ferry runs regularly from Torri to Maderno, which is on the other side of the lake. This offers the opportunity to visit the beautiful towns of Toscolano-Maderno, Gardone, Salò and Gargnano.
1. Sights
Garda: Villa Albertini- in a magnificent, large park. Inside there are paintings and works of art worth seeing. The villa is privately owned and unfortunately cannot be visited, you can only see the facade from the outside through the closed gate. The 15th-century
Garda: The Palazzo dei Capitani overlooks the town's main square, which is adjacent to the port. The governor used to reside in this Venetian palazzo from the 15th century, built in the Gothic-Venetian style. The building has a beautiful façade with lancet windows and was once located directly on the lake shore.
Torri: The castle of the Scaligeri is impressive. This is worth seeing as it is one of the last functioning lemonades on Lake Garda. It is one of the greenhouses still in use, with old trees full of citrus fruits such as lemons, oranges and tangerines. You can also climb one of the towers of the castle to enjoy the beautiful view over the town and the lake.
Torri: You can also visit the parish church of Santi Apostoli Pietro e Paolo, baroque church from the 18th century and the Torre di Berengario tower.

The bike path is spacious and far from the dangers of the road. There are cultural highlights along the route. Among them are two medieval churches: the Church of San Nicola in Assenza and the Church of San Zeno de l'Oselet with the Villa Romana in Castelletto. If you want, you can take another beautiful cycle path north of Assenza, via Cassone to Malcesine.

Excursion to Caprino Veronese (Spiazzi district), a town at the foot of Monte Baldo, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. From there you can take numerous beautiful hikes, such. E.g. to the pilgrimage church Madonna della Corona (Santuario Madonna della Corona in Spiazzi) from the 16th century, which is in the middle of steep rock faces in a unique location. (Pilgrimages mainly in September and October) From here you can enjoy beautiful views of the Adige Valley below.
The Sanctuary of the Madonna della Corona is a place of silence and meditation suspended between heaven and earth, hidden in the heart of the cliffs of Monte Baldo. It is about 20 kilometers from Lake Garda. The Sanctuary in the Rock is in Spiazzi where you can park your car and then walk down to the Sanctuary. Castelletto di Brenzone is located north of Torri. It is divided into a district with a tourist harbor that is worth seeing and the old, picturesque and historic district on the slope of Monte Baldo, which lies in an olive grove that extends up to Monte Baldo. Beautiful lakeside promenades, shore paths and bathing spots. The short hike from Castelletto di Brenzone up to Biaza is also very beautiful, in an untouched landscape.
Worthwhile hike south to Albisano and Strada dei Castei, old road connection above the lake between Torri and Garda, with fantastic views of Punta San Vigilio, one of the most beautiful and idyllic places on Lake Garda. This road also leads to the rocky landscape on the slope of Monte Luppia, above Brancolino, where interesting Neolithic rock carvings have been discovered.
An excursion to the western shore of Lake Garda is also interesting, namely with the car ferry to Toscolano - Maderno, which runs about every hour during the day and takes you by car or bicycle to the other side of the lake in about 20 minutes.
If you drive up the mountain from Torri you can reach the Prada Costabella chairlift in San Zeno di Montagna. The original Prada-Ortigaretta (2 people) basket lift, 2 km long from the Prada car park (1,014 m) to the Baita Turri Rifugio (1,550 m), will be replaced by a new basket lift. The Ortigaretta-Costabella chairlift (1 person) gives way to a new chairlift for 2 people and goes up to the Rifugio Fiori del Baldo (1,850 m) over a distance of 955 m.
In addition to the popular Malcesine cable car, these two lifts now also take mountain and Lake Garda fans to the summit of Monte Baldo. The new Prada-Costabella cable car is an interesting alternative for hikers and mountain bikers on southern Monte Baldo. If you can't quite manage the ascent of Monte Baldo or would like some relief, you can load your bike on both lifts using a device on the outside. Look forward to unlimited bike fun!
